MFC provides its entire range of investment banking services to clients in Europe. Our sector and product groups work closely together in helping to identify and execute Middle East transaction opportunities for European clients and similarly European transactions for clients from the Middle East. Our focus is on cross-border transactions where we can bring to bear our global sector expertise, e.g. in Telecoms, Energy or Transport among others.
The Gulf Cooperation Council ("GCC") and Dubai in particular have become an important financial and business centre attracting global blue chip institutions to pursue business opportunities in this region. With over 30 bankers MFC has one of the largest dedicated Corporate Finance groups in the GCC and is well positioned to advise European or other international clients. Our senior bankers have worked in large US and European institutions in London and Paris prior to joining MFC and have established a transaction record with large clients in both regions. We will in due course open an office in London in order to be closer to clients from Europe.
We are currently advising European clients in capital raising assignments covering the spectrum from private placements with Middle East institutional investors to public listings on the Dubai International Exchange (DIFX) or Dubai Financial Market (DFM). We are also acting on behalf of clients from this region in acquisition assignments for European assets.
